The work ‘Cell’ was created while attending the School of Visual Theater for the 2004 Israel Festival.

Cell is a time-based real-time installation. It is composed of a container box that does not reveal its contents upon first glance. When looking through its small peephole, a human kaleidoscope is revealed. The organic movement of body parts lures the viewer to a magical, hypnotic and erotic world.

The “cell”, its space and surroundings, act as a prison. The space seems too small to hold people, yet the workers, a man and a woman, whose movements create the images, are enclosed within the container for 5 hours. The initial beauty of the images is transformed once the audience becomes aware of the entrapment.
